I also enjoyed Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life. Very unique book.
I have read "Showdown" and a couple of other Dekker books. I really didn't care for them. I guess he is just not the author for me.
The rest of your list looks really interesting though.
Hmmm - The Kindness of Strangers - I may have to look into that one since you rated it so high!!!!
